Curriculum Development and Training Philosophy

1)Safety in training is our #1 priority.
2)All staff members are certified instructors.
3)We maintain an instructor-student ratio that allows a balance between assuring competent supervision and realizing budgetary limitations.
4)Our curriculum is developed to meet the requirements and intent of relevant NFPA Standards and OSHA regulations.
5)Our curriculum and course schedule is built on the philosophy of delivering a logical sequence of knowledge and skills for the students as they progress through the course.
6)Each skill taught includes theory presentation, skill demonstration, practical application under controlled situations, and practical application under simulated emergency situations.
7)About 90 percent of the students’ time will be involved in hands-on training applications.
8)All practical applications and emergency simulations are evaluated against a written standard and formal review sessions are instituted.
9)Written tests can be facilitated as required.
10)Train the trainer programs can be facilitated.

ARK Technical Rescue Training Services, Inc.

1)Incorporated since 1990.
2)Staff instructors each have over 20 years of emergency response experience.
3)International/national disaster response experience that includes rescue work at natural and manmade disasters in Armenia, The Philippines, Kenya, Turkey, Taiwan, Oklahoma City, and The Pentagon 9-11 response, and Hurricane Katrina.
4)Staff includes National Fire Academy Adjunct Instructor.
5)Staff is active on the NFPA 1670 and 1006 committees.
6)Staff members have experience in the FEMA USAR program development process.
7)Instructional staff includes active members of FEMA USAR teams.
